Orange Frosted Carrot Cookies

3/4 c. shortening
1 t. baking powder
1/2 T. salt
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 egg
1 c. cooked, mashed carrots

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Add everything else and mix well. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes. Ice while hot.

Icing:
1 cube butter, soft
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 pkg. orange kool aid
1 t. vanilla
evaporated milk

Cream butter with sugar, kool aid and vanilla. Add evap. milk until icing consistency.
